MEMA Foods International was founded by Carmelo Messina in 1989, and is now operated by his sons Gabriel and Alexander. Over the past 25-years, MEMA has brought the memorable taste of Sicily to the Greater Toronto area. The company features delectable sauces, soups and specialty foods crafted for today’s demanding consumers looking for simply good food made with naturally sourced ingredients and bottled in an environmentally responsible way.

All of MEMA’s products are made in small batches to lock in the goodness and are offered in a variety of flavours for even the fussiest palate. Our products are packaged under the Just Soup, Just Sauce and Messina Sauce brands, and under private label to some of Canada’s premier grocers and specialty food stores. We are especially proud of the olive oil we use, which is exclusively sourced from grandfather Biaggio Messina’s olive grove in Sicily!

MEMA Foods International is proudly Canadian and pleased to bring the very best taste of Italy to its devoted fans.

Two brothers, two totally different personalities. We think differently, we work differently, and we each bring our own kind of knowledge to the table.

That could have been a challenge… but instead, it’s become our biggest strength. Building a business together hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been worth every step. At the end of the day, there’s nothing better than chasing big goals and creating something meaningful with your own family.

Grateful every day that we get to do this as brothers and that together we’ve built Just Soup and Just Sauce brands - made in Canada, built with passion, and shared across the country with our new partnership through Tree of Life Canada.
